Supporting Our Mission
SGIA is established as a charitable, not-for-profit corporation and we are governed by the associated government legislation. We have a constitution and board of directors, and report to various government bodies. Our annual financial reports are available to all financially contributing members and our accounts are externally audited each year. Australian corporate law provides a robust governance framework for organisations such as ours, enabling us to protect our members and underpin the future development of our movement for the happiness of humanity.
Financial contribution is not merely a matter of a request for funds, but based on faith, a powerful opportunity for us to strengthen our spirit of generosity, concretely express our appreciation and for some of us, transform the relationship we have with money. We express our sincere appreciation and congratulations to all who have made a determination to contribute financially to our movement.
Ultimately, the purpose of our organisation is to support the growth and happiness of each individual and in turn, society as a whole. The sincere efforts we make to support the financial and operational well-being of the organisation contribute to providing an environment in which each member can be supported in their individual human revolution and in the process, connect those in their life to the rich humanism of Buddhism.
